The Mucus pro brand is known for the production of natural mucus of mollusks since 2006 using the patented Mucus Professional technology, having a share in the world market of processed products – snail mucus of at least 11%, as well as equipment of the same name (Mucus pro) for extracting natural secretion (mucus) from live mollusks since 2011, successfully sold in February 2024 and completely absorbed by the Ukrainian company Bulova.
The transaction amount was not disclosed, but it is known that the size of intangible assets alone (patents, trademarks, licenses and technical solutions) exceeded 600 thousand euros.
The Bulova company is known for the production of Bulova freeze dryers, occupies a high position in the global market in the segment of small freeze dryers, with a useful volume of raw materials up to 12 kg.
The Bulova company is also known for the production and technical development of unique lyophilized nutraceuticals, one of which is lyophilized Apilarnil.
The latest developments of the Ukrainian company Bulova are related to the production of ultra-thin graphene threads from frozen carbon dioxide obtained by lyophilization. The company is very close to the industrial production of such graphene, which will allow us to get closer to solving environmental problems of removing carbon from the Earth’s atmosphere and industrial production of ultra-light and durable nanomaterials.
Bulova has been investing in technical projects to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, for example: Bulova has been producing hydrogen generators, known under the “H2Energy-Douje” brand, for many years to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels by internal combustion engines, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.
About snail slime…
Bulova company will focus on the production of processed products – mainly freeze-dried snail mucus and will reduce direct sales of equipment for its production (Mucus pro). Already in 2024, equipment will leave direct sales in many countries, and from 2025 it will be sold only through a dealer network, and even then not everywhere. Also, sales of Mucus pro equipment will be completely stopped in a number of countries.
Moreover, due to the difficult situation in Ukraine in 2024, the assembly production of specialized Mucus pro and Bulova equipment moved to Europe, now it is entirely European products, this will lead to an inevitable increase in the cost of equipment by 20-30% from mid-2024. Timely deliveries of equipment will continue to be available from Warsaw Airport (Poland).
Today, no other global manufacturer of equipment for the isolation and processing of natural snail mucus competes with Mucus pro equipment: Mucus Pro class products remain absolutely pure, undiluted with water and acids. The MUCUS PROfessional industrial snail mucus extraction technology can only be compared with the production of snail mucus by manually extracting snail mucus, which is not uncommon today among many leading snail mucus manufacturers.
“We are stopping the sale of fishing rods, our priorities are on selling fish, and very high quality ones 🙂 ,” jokes and smiling sweetly the director of the Bulova company Bila Maria.
-“The strategic goal of Mucus pro is to focus on the production of its own processed products: lyophilized snail mucus, its own cosmetic products and the development of new nutraceuticals, conducting clinical studies and increasing its own production of processed products.”
-“Interesting fact: the consumption of freeze-dried snail mucus in nutraceuticals is 50 times higher than in cosmetics.
People all over the world eat far more mucus than they put on their faces!
However, the priority of using snail mucus (produced by our company, says Mrs. Maria) by the cosmetics industry, more than 90%.”
-“Along with increasing sales of primary processing products (snail mucus as raw materials for the medical, food and cosmetic industries), our company plans to expand the line of ready-made nutraceuticals and cosmetics made from the mucus of exotic species of snails, such as black Asian snails.”
-“We will continue to expand our dealer and franchise networks around the world.”
The nutraceuticals market size is estimated at US$488.4 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach US$626 billion by 2029, growing at a CAGR of over 5%.
The growing need for nutraceuticals for medicinal purposes is the reason for the growing popularity of nutraceuticals. For example, snail secretions and components contain antioxidants, antibiotics and polyunsaturated acids, mucopolysaccharides, unique bactericidal microflora that help fight health problems such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, cancer, cholesterol, arthritis, diabetes and gastrointestinal diseases. Bulova’s company is conducting clinical studies on the treatment of Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis of the gastrointestinal tract and irritation of the gastrointestinal tract with drugs based on snail mucus.
And finally, a little interesting thing 🙂
“Public Space of the Snail Industry” is an international mini-project in which any interested investor from any country can take part. showroom, – exhibition hall, snail farm with a full cycle of snail processing and gastronomic tourism. Cooked Burgundy snail, salted snail caviar, snail mucus, cosmetics, food additives. How does a snail farm work, how does the processing equipment work? – everything will be in one place! We are now choosing a place: the Canary or Caribbean Islands, with a flow of tourists from 5 million per year. Join us!
The social part of the project: popularization of the cultivation and processing of snails in the world, the commercial part is a quick payback from gastronomic tourism. For example, the industry of growing snails on livestock farms is practically nonexistent in the United States.
Bulova company director Bila Mariia concluded her blitz interview with words: “In conclusion, I would like to wish everyone a good year, peaceful skies, new ideas and high incomes.Together we will achieve more!”
