Pay attention to the composition of cosmetic products with “snail mucus”: creams or masks – how much snail mucus is actually contained inside the product?
And you will be very disappointed! These are very small shares: 0.1% or 0.01%.
Yes, global brands place hundredths of the snail mucus itself in a tube of “snail cosmetics”, and even less often this mucus is natural, more often it is artificial mucin.
But the snail drawn on the tube takes up 30%, and even 50% of the label space.
Of course, this is a marketing gimmick: “snail cosmetics” with a large snail on the label and a very small amount of mucus, often less than 0.1%.
And there are more than 90% of such “snail cosmetics” in the world.
What do you think: does this “snail formula” work on your skin?
Only as a “placebo”, if you often look at the label with a large snail 🙂
What’s the matter? Why is there so little snail mucus in snail cosmetics from world brands?
Real natural snail mucus is difficult to add (mix) with other cosmetic ingredients, since it is a product of animal origin, it does not mix well and is even rejected by other compounds, and besides, natural snail mucus is an expensive substance.
Meanwhile, the annual volume of the global market for such “snail cosmetics” with “snail mucus” has already exceeded 1.5 billion US dollars!
A breakthrough in the proportion of natural snail mucus in a cosmetic product was made by Bulova with the formula from Mucus pro: “More inside than outside.”
Surprisingly, there can be exactly as much natural snail mucus in any snail cosmetic product: cream, mask or serum as the cosmetic product itself weighs! And even more!
For example: a tube of snail cream weighing 50 grams of cream may contain 50 or even 60 grams of natural snail mucus.
What’s the trick? How is this possible?
An interesting trick that can be implemented in any cosmetic product, thanks to the use of natural lyophilized snail mucus of the Mucus pro class.
For example, snail cosmetics MORDO from Mucus pro already contain natural snail mucus 100% and 120% of the volume (weight) of the cosmetic product itself!
That is, the entire volume is snail mucus, but where did the rest of the ingredients go? you ask.
This is how the cosmetic formula works: “There is more on the inside than on the outside.” After all, there is 100 times more snail mucus inside the cosmetics than was added.
Bulova’s company presented simple calculations, where, for example, in cosmetics, natural snail mucus is 20%, 50%, 100% and even 120%.
The thing is that lyophilized snail mucus of the Mucus pro class is a highly concentrated substance, for example, when lyophilizing Helix aspersa snail mucus, the shrinkage of the mucus is 99%; when lyophilizing Helix aspersa snail slime, the yield of dry matter is only 1%.
1 part of dry (lyophilized) mucus from Helix aspersa class Mucus pro snails contains 100 parts of the original natural liquid snail mucus.
For example #1: when adding dry snail mucus to the formulation of a cosmetic product weighing 22 g in the amount of 0.5% (line B2 in the table), which is 0.11 g (C2), and in terms of natural liquid snail mucus this is 11 g (D2) .
Thus, in fact, the composition of a cosmetic product weighing 22 g contains 50% pure liquid natural snail mucus (E2).
For example #2, if you add 1.2% (B4) of dry (lyophilized) snail mucus to the same product, then the actual presence of snail mucus in the cosmetic product (in terms of natural raw snail mucus) will be 120% (E4), which will exceed the weight of the cosmetic product itself . Same for another cosmetic product (E5)- example #3.
Today, the absolute world record holder for the content of natural snail slime in a cosmetic product is snail cosmetics MORDO from Mucus pro, thanks to the patented cosmetic formula: “More inside than outside” and the use of lyophilized snail slime of the Mucus pro class in cosmetic products.
The content of natural snail mucus in MORDO cosmetic products is 50%, 100% and even 120%.
Serial production of MORDO cosmetics and the presentation of snail cosmetics with a record content of natural snail slime are expected in 2025.
Bulova, with its MUCUS PROfessional natural snail slime production technology from Mucus pro, invites global cosmetics manufacturers to produce cosmetic products with real natural snail slime content in cosmetics.
The material is provided by Bulova, with the aim of popularizing accessible technologies in the production of snail cosmetics from Mucus pro.
