What’s the matter? Why is there so little snail mucus in snail cosmetics from world brands?

Real natural snail mucus is difficult to add (mix) with other cosmetic ingredients, since it is a product of animal origin, it does not mix well and is even rejected by other compounds, and besides, natural snail mucus is an expensive substance.

Meanwhile, the annual volume of the global market for such “snail cosmetics” with “snail mucus” has already exceeded 1.5 billion US dollars!

For example #1: when adding dry snail mucus to the formulation of a cosmetic product weighing 22 g in the amount of 0.5% (line B2 in the table), which is 0.11 g (C2), and in terms of natural liquid snail mucus this is 11 g (D2) .

Thus, in fact, the composition of a cosmetic product weighing 22 g contains 50% pure liquid natural snail mucus (E2).

For example #2, if you add 1.2% (B4) of dry (lyophilized) snail mucus to the same product, then the actual presence of snail mucus in the cosmetic product (in terms of natural raw snail mucus) will be 120% (E4), which will exceed the weight of the cosmetic product itself . Same for another cosmetic product (E5)- example #3.
