Since 2010, Bulova has been producing nutraceuticals from natural ingredients—including snails, snail mucus, and Apilarnil—to promote health, beauty, and longevity.
As well as natural raw materials derived from snail meat and snail mucus, apilarnil, and apitoxin for the cosmetic, medical, and food industries.
Bulova owns the MORDO brand and, since 2015, has been producing MORDO cosmetics featuring a record concentration of snail mucin, as well as the “MORDO Mucus Pro 130 Beauty Supplements” cosmeics dietary beauty supplement.
In 2020, MORDO Mucus Pro 130 Beauty Supplements was recognized as the best beauty and health supplement and awarded the title of “Best Nutraceutical of 2020.”
In 2011, Bulova launched an exclusive product on the global market—lyophilized Helix aspersa snail mucus (and somewhat later, lyophilized mucus from African snail species)—under the Mucus Pro brand. The product is unique in that the snail mucus is produced with 100% purity—free from additives, acids, water, or chemical reagents. A dry residue can now be easily obtained from the pure, raw liquid snail mucus through the process of freeze-drying.
Natural freeze-dried snail mucus of the “Mucus Pro” quality grade became the second product on the dry snail mucus market—following the dry snail mucus from Aden International (Thailand)—but with significantly lower production costs and a lower finished-product price.
In 2010, Bulova launched Mucus Pro on the global market—a device for obtaining natural snail mucus.
The Mucus Pro initiative is an experimental project by Bulova aimed at bringing to market modern equipment for the mechanical extraction of natural snail mucus without the use of any additives (no water, acids, or reagents). For the production of raw, pure, natural snail mucus of any species, from which a dry residue can be extracted. A comprehensive technological process—MUCUS Professional—was also developed for the production of natural (additive- and impurity-free) freeze-dried snail mucus, aimed at scaling up global industrial output while maintaining low production costs.
The project is designed to span 10 years and will conclude in 2025. It has enabled an increase in global industrial production of natural snail mucus while minimizing production costs. It has also facilitated the outsourcing of natural snail mucus production to developing economies using Mucus Pro equipment. In the near future, Mucus Pro-standard natural snail mucus production will evolve into an exclusive club of natural mucin producers.
Starting in 2026, Mucus Pro will transition to a franchise-based model for equipment sales; Mucus Pro snail mucus extractors will be withdrawn from direct (retail) sales, and to regulate the global market for high-quality natural snail mucus, the company will limit the geographical distribution of its equipment—meaning the Mucus Pro franchise will not be available in all countries and regions.
The experimental project Mucus Pro has confirmed that the global economy is rapidly developing and growing in both the industrial farming of snails and the industrial production and use of snail mucus. The demand for technologies and equipment for snail mucus production and processing will increase over the next 50 years as the market for snail mucus products—such as cosmetics, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceuticals—continues to grow and expand.
An interesting fact: there are over 30,000 snail species in the wild, yet the beneficial properties of these mollusks have been studied in fewer than 100 species, and no more than 10 species are farmed commercially worldwide.
Over the course of more than a decade implementing the experimental “Mucus Pro” project, Bulova (together with its “Mucus Pro” franchisees) has easily captured at least 10% of the global natural snail mucus market and demonstrated to the world that “Snail mucus is simple!”—the company’s motto throughout this journey of achievement.
Bulova core business remains the development and manufacture of its eponymous freeze-drying units—which occupy the global market segment for compact devices intended for laboratory and household use—as well as intelligent electronic devices for the professional collection of bee venom (apitoxin) as well as “Mucus Filter” vacuum laboratory devices for the filtration of biological fluids. All equipment has been developed and manufactured in Ukraine since 2010.
Bulova prioritizes health and beauty products, specifically the research and development of nutraceuticals derived from natural ingredients. The company has achieved significant success in developing a unique nutraceutical based on lyophilized snail mucin for treating autoimmune gastrointestinal diseases and has launched a free treatment initiative (2023–2025) for patients worldwide as part of its “Gastromucin for Human Health” program.
Bulova offers its own economic programs—developed from Mucus Pro—for countries with emerging economies, aiming to foster market development and introduce high-tech products manufactured in these countries to international markets.
An interesting fact: the product from Bulova that is most in demand on the global market is freeze-dried mucus from Helix aspersa and Achatina fulica snails.
Their best-selling dietary supplement—an androgenic nutraceutical designed to improve erectile function— Aphrodisiac One, which consists of apilarnil and snail caviar 🙂
