An important technological stage is filtration and microfiltration of mollusk mucus.
Fresh raw mucus is a very microbiological product.
Without further processing, the storage of mucus is impossible.
The very first and main processing of mucus is filtration.
Microfiltration is especially important – if the finished product is liquid mucus.
Conditional sterile filtration is filtration in the 0.2 micron range.
Such microfiltration should be done gradually, having previously filtered out mucus in the size of 1) 10-20 microns and 2) 1 microns.

Otherwise, the smallest filter will simply clog up, and it is the most expensive filter used in this process.
The Filtration Station “Mucus filter” allows you to quickly change filter elements of the desired size.

The Mucus Filter III Vacuum Filtration Station uses a 2.5″ x 10″ pass-through filter cartridge without an O-ring adapter.
The filter for the first filtration with a size of 10-20 microns is made of continuous polypropylene fiber, thermally bonded, which provides true depth filtration throughout the entire volume of the cartridge.
The filter for the second filtration with a size of 1 micron is made on the basis of polypropylene fibers specially designed to fill the gap between absolute pleated filters and nominal wound and thermally bonded filter elements, used for cost-effective pre-filtration and clarification of biological liquids.
The basis for the third filter filter (the thinnest at 0.2 microns) is a pleated filter, medium of increased density made of micro-thin glass fibers.
The improved mechanical strength of the filter material is achieved by the presence of special protective layers, and eliminates “secondary pollution” due to the spraying of ultrafine fibers.
Filter material with high performance, adsorption capacity, thermochemical stability provides effective filtration of solutions in a wide range high pH range, especially for difficult-to-filter solutions with residual opalescence thions, serums, plasma proteins, viscous biological fluids, oils.
High filtration efficiency (almost at the level of membrane filtration) in combination with the increased dirt holding capacity typical of depth filters provides cost-effective, high-quality filtration in deep cleansing and reducing microbiological load.
Installation “Mucus filter” allows you to wash filter elements under pressure.
Filter elements must be washed with water, if necessary, disinfected with a disinfectant solution and stored in a UV box for no more than 1 day for repeated one-time use!
Microfiltered mucus remains a microbiological product, fermentation processes are also continued in it and requires storage at low temperatures or freezing.
In addition, liquid mucus must be preserved with preservatives or inhibitors approved in your country.
Filtration stations “Mucus filter” are made of AISI stainless steel grades, alloyed with nickel and chrome. All Bulova equipment has a stainless steel certificate – “For the food industry”.
Thanks to the stainless steel certificate, Bulova equipment is used in the medical and pharmaceutical industries.
However, despite its low acidity, snail mucus is an aggressive medium for metal; devices must be washed and wiped dry after each technological process.

Replaceable filter element (filter cartridge) 0.2 µ expensive and most important filter. It requires special maintenance and storage.
For filtration of biological fluids: the fluid inflow is connected to the side (the fluid comes from outside the filter cartridge), the fluid outlet from the inside of the filter (from the bottom center), drawing 2.

The flushing of the replaceable filter cartridge is carried out by the counterflow of water or disinfectant solution, by connecting the pipes in reverse (the supply pipe is in the center of the filter, the outlet pipe is at the side of the filter), photo 3

After washing, replaceable filter cartridges are subject to short-term storage (up to 8 hours) in an ultraviolet box. With this type of maintenance, replaceable filter cartridges can be used one more time.

Microfiltration station “Mucus Filter III”  and Microfiltration station “Mucus Filter IV”  allow easy flushing of replaceable filter cartridges by rearranging the inlet and outlet pipes by means of a counter-flow of flushing liquid.

Your high-value filter elements will serve you up to 2 filtration cycles.
