AFRICA PEACE PLAN: SOUTH AFRICA READY TO COME TO UKRAINE WITH THEIR OWN VISION OF THE WAR

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. The latter informed about his intention to come to Ukraine as part of a mission from several African countries.

“During a telephone conversation on May 13, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa did inform Volodymyr Zelensky about his intention to come to Ukraine as part of a mission from several African countries,” Nikiforov said.

The President of Ukraine welcomed such a peaceful initiative.

“Vladimir Zelensky is ready to receive distinguished guests in Ukraine, listen to their proposals, talk about the Ukrainian “peace formula” and invite them to join its implementation,”.

Recently, South Africa announced that it had agreed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on a peace mission from Africa to fight the war in Ukraine.

Thus, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said that African leaders would visit Ukraine and the Russian Federation to present their own “peace plan”.

In addition, Ramaphosa said that he had already talked about this with Putin, and the next day with Zelensky, and added that “both sides agreed to receive the delegation.”

Subsequently, Bankova responded to this statement. According to the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Igor Zhovkva, who was quoted by Sky News, Ukraine is ready to listen to proposals from different countries to resolve the war, but the only realistic plan is the “peace formula” of President Volodymyr Zelensky.

As “Fleet 2017” reported, at the end of April 2023, the President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, announced that his ruling party, the African National Congress,had decided  to withdraw South Africa from the International Criminal Court  . Such a statement was made after the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. As you know, South Africa will host a summit of the bloc of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, and the ICC warrant means that Putin must be detained in South Africa if he arrives. The Ramaphos administration then subsequently denied this information, citing a “mistake” in communication.

Also,South Africa supplied weapons to Russia, despite statements of neutrality on the issue of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, said US Ambassador to South Africa Ruben Brigety, citing intelligence data.
